track team for CHSD170

Ten students represented Chicago Heights School District 170 in various events at the IESA State Track and Field Championships that were held in East Peoria this past weekend.

The students qualified for the state meet as a result of their outstanding performances against 12 other schools at the recent Sectional Track and Field Championships that were held at T. F. North High School in Calumet City.

 

The students who represented School District 170 were:

8th Grade Girls 4X100 Relay (with a time of :53.60)

Eliani Vega (Greenbriar)

Donya Love (Grant)

Nala Wiggins (Roosevelt)

Autumn Nelson (Roosevelt)

Ernia Willis (Jefferson)

 

8th Grade Girls Hurdles (with a time of :16.90)

Nala Wiggins (Roosevelt)

 

8th Grade Boys Long Jump (with a jump of 18.00.5 feet)

Ahbran Resendez (Garfield)

 

8th Grade Boys Disk (with a first place finish of 103.05 feet)

Juan Chavez (Garfield)

 

7th Grade Girls Shot Put (with a first place finish of 25.08 feet)

Ashley Rivera (Wilson)

 

7th Grade Boys 1600 Meters (with the time of 5:35.10)

Marvin Ramirez (Wilson)

 

7th Grade Boys 400 Meters (with the time of 1:01.60)

Eric Sebastian (Garfield)

 

“I am so very proud of the effort put forth by the young men and women who so capably represented School Distrcit 170 at last weekend’s competition,” said Joe Barker, SD170’s Director of Athletics.

“Each of these students, along all of the other members of the district’s Track and Field squad competed all season with superb effort, and with the goal of being the best that they could be in their respective events.”
