fine arts festival works

Chicago Heights School District 170 will host the South Suburban Junior High School Association "Fine Arts Festival 2017" on Tuesday, April 11th at Washington-McKinley School.

This festival marks the eighth year that School District 170 has hosted the event consisting of choral performances and a visual arts exhibition for students in grades six through eight from 10 south suburban school districts.

The festival will begin at 2:30 P.M. with an exhibition of approximately 150 pieces of student artwork in the Washington-McKinley Gymnasium.

At 3:15 musical presentations will be showcased in the school’s auditorium.

The SSJHSA Fine Arts Festival is an event designed to enrich the educational and artistic experience of junior high school students in a collegial environment. At the festival, students will have the opportunity to have their work and performances judged by experts in their respective areas.

“On behalf of School District 170 and all of the staff and volunteers who have worked so hard to ensure the event’s success, I am thrilled to welcome all of the students who will be participants in the 2017 SSJHSA Fine Arts Festival,” said Superintendent Tom Amadio.

“In providing a showcase for their artistic talent, the students will be afforded an exciting educational and social dynamic in which their work is appreciated and admired by all.”
