tom amadilo, the superintendent

I would like to extend to each of you a warm welcome to this first issue of “From the Superintendent” for the 2017-18 school year.

I am planning on publishing a “From the Superintendent” message each month during the school year to keep you informed of the activities, programs, events, and projects impacting our school district.

At Chicago Heights School District 170 the school year has started in an excellent manner, one that reflects the enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators.

As always, affording our students with the finest possible learning experience is our ultimate goal.  To that end, we will continue to provide students with state of the art educational technology in the classrooms and utilize progressive and engaging learning strategies and techniques to maximize the potential for student success.

Our school district will continue to enhance the educational aspects of the learning environment by providing students with extra-curricular programs and activities that broaden the learning experience.

Through various athletic, band, choral, and academic activities our students can pursue interests that promote a positive scholastic experience.

District 170 also will continue to provide certified and non-certified staff with a variety of cutting-edge professional development activities to assist them in developing their talents as instructors, mentors, and administrators.

In closing, please know that I am honored and proud to serve the students and staff of Chicago Heights School District 170, and to represent all of the School District 170 family in wishing each of you a wonderful 2017-18 school year.

With best regards,
