chicago heights school district 170

Based on results of a parent survey, the Board of Education of Chicago Heights School District 170 has approved a return to in-person instruction for all students beginning on Monday, March 8th.

Students at the Chicago Heights Middle School will attend class two or three days a week from 7:30 a.m. – 2:20 p.m. on an alternating schedule while completing the remainder of their lessons on-line. The alternating schedule will afford students everything needed to succeed at remote learning while providing in-school face-to-face learning and student-teacher interaction. Students in the buildings housing students in grades K – 5 will attend class five days a week from 7:50 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. Students attending the Early Childhood Program will attend morning sessions from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. or afternoon sessions from 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. “Speaking on behalf of the Board of Education, we are thrilled to welcome back our students,” said Superintendent Tom Amadio. “I also would like to extend sincere thanks to our students, their families, and every member of the School District 170 family for their superb efforts in maintaining as much a sense of normalcy as was possible during the past months of the enhanced remote learning protocol.” As always, parents with questions concerning the return to the in-school learning process should contact the principal of their child’s school(s).
