May 16, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
With the end of the year fast approaching, we wanted to provide some information to you regarding
device drop off and Remote Learning Planning Days.
The State has allowed us to utilize up to five Remote Learning Planning Days. We will be using 3 ½
days for this purpose. Here is how those days will be utilized:
● Friday, May 22, 2020, was originally scheduled as an 11:00 dismissal to allow teachers to
complete necessary paperwork for the end of the year (grades, white cards, folders, etc.) We will
use this day as a ½ day of Remote Learning Planning Day. Instruction will occur only for the half
day.
● The last day of Remote Learning will be on Friday, May 29, 2020.
● Monday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 3, 2020, will be used as Remote Learning Planning
Days (3). The principals of each building will organize student and staff pick up and device drop
off. You will be getting notification from your principal letting you know your time slot for
picking up materials that were left in the building and for dropping off your student’s
chromebooks. There will be no instruction on these days.
The principals, custodians, and any volunteer teachers will be bagging up student materials, labeling the
bag with the student’s name, and placing the bag in an easily accessible location. Any items in the
student’s desk or locker will be placed in the bag.
If you are unable to pick up your child’s things or drop off your child’s chromebook during June 1-3,
please contact your principal to make alternative arrangements.
We know that this was not the way you had hoped to end this school year. We too are saddened that
students and staff will not be able to close the school year out traditionally.
At this time, we do not have guidance from the state regarding returning to school in the fall. We will
keep you posted as we receive information.
We wish you a safe and healthy summer.
Best,
Tom Amadio
Superintendent
