Hi everyone, I am Mr. Pezzuto.

I have been in education for over 19 years in Indiana and Illinois as a teacher, baseball coach, BPA advisor, dean, athletic director and administrator. I spent eight years as the principal of the STEM program at CHSD 170, including being the BPA advisor and currently this is my third year as the districts athletic director and 7th grade Assistant Principal here at the middle school.

I received my bachelors from DePaul University, a masters from Calumet College of St. Joseph’s and my Illinois administrative license from Olivet Nazarene University.  I currently hold teaching and administrative licenses in both Illinois and Indiana. I am also an IHSA certified athletic coach.

Being a part of the new middle school is very exciting, not just for me, but the whole Chicago Heights community. We have not had a true middle school in Chicago Heights in over twenty years and this will offer the students, parents, teachers and administrators a 21st century learning facility that is second to none!  Having our middle schools previously separated (6, 7, 8) for so many years has caused a divide in our student population.  I truly believe CHMS will be a proud leader in rigor, community and togetherness. Being from “The Heights” I am so grateful to be a part of this new beginning at District 170.

Looking forward to a great year!
